Project funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation within the National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation, 2008-2011, under the 2011 call of the Programme of Public-Private Cooperation, sub programme INNPACTO.

The main purpose of the ReuroReg project is the creation of new products of regenerative medicine and diagnostic tolls for spinal damage and perpheral nervous system injuries, what will be achieved by combining three aspects:

  • Cells, especially mesenchumal stem cells due to their potential for the development of cellular therapies.
  • Innovative biomaterials that serve as bioactive support for the development of Tissue Engineering technologies.
  • Technologies based on systems of image and software analysis with all the possibilities offered for the diagnosis and tracking of the treatment of the new advanced therapies in the regeneration of nervous damage.

Histocell's Activity:

  • Create a cellular therapy based on AMSC for the regeneration of spinal damage.
  • Evaluate new biomaterials as support for the treatment of the chronic spinal damage.
  • Create the final products for the regeneration of the peripheral nervous system.
